From the beginning of 2002, working as postdoctoral associate and as assistant research scientist at the laboratory of Dr. William B. Whitman, I performed several molecular biology, genetic, biochemistry and bioinformatic projects studying the archaeon Methanococcus maripaludis. The main project that I have been study is to understand the biosynthesis of aromatic amino acids in M. maripaludis, including finding the genes involved in the pathway and their regulation. In addition I was involved in the differential display proteomics and transcriptome analyses of a hydrogen metabolism mutant of the archaeon M. maripaludis.
